As we’ve come to understand year after year, day after day even, death is unfortunately an inevitable part of life. Still, as much of a fact as that may be, the blow of experiencing loss never gets any easier, nor does reporting on the subject in Black culture.
Simpson died on April 10th after complications with cancer.
The family posted on X (formerly Twitter) “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer.”
Simpson was a stellar football player in college and the NFL more than 50 years ago, but he became one of America’s most notorious figures during the infamous murder trial of the 90s.
