Hip-hop icon Sean “Diddy” Combs is set to go to trial on May 5 to face sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy charges. The trial date was confirmed during a hearing on Thursday in Manhattan federal court, where Combs appeared before Judge Arun Subramanian.
During the hearing, the judge outlined key deadlines for both sides to submit legal arguments ahead of the trial, which Combs’ legal team had requested to begin in April or May.
The charges against Combs, 54, were filed last month and involve allegations dating back to 2008.
The indictment accuses Combs of organizing a long-running scheme of abuse, involving a network of associates who allegedly helped him coerce and silence women through threats, blackmail, and violence.
Bad Boy Records founder has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Since Combs’ arrest on September 16, his lawyers have been attempting to free him and release him on bail.
Two judges ruled that Combs would be a danger to the community if released. During a bail hearing three weeks ago, a judge denied a $50 million bail proposal, which included home detention and electronic monitoring, citing concerns that Combs might tamper with witnesses and obstruct an ongoing investigation.
