Former First Lady Michelle Obama has raised eyebrows everywhere as a key absentee from the funeral service of Former President Jimmy Carter.

Michelle Obama, wife of 44th U.S. president Barack Obama, was assigned to sit next to President Elect Donald Trump during the service, but was not present.
Ahead of the funeral, CNN reported that the former first lady had a scheduling conflict and remained in Hawaii, where she had been on an “extended vacation.”

Michelle and Barack shared a touching tribute post on Instagram, giving the former president his flowers.
“President Carter taught all of us what it means to live a life of grace, dignity, justice, and service. Michelle and I send our thoughts and prayers to the Carter family, and everyone who loved and learned from this remarkable man.”
Former President Carter brought together all the A-Listed of the top of American political life, with all five living U.S. presidents attending Carter’s funeral. Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump and Joe Biden were seated in the second row during the state funeral of former President Jimmy Carter, who died December 29.

Carter’s son said he died at his home in Plains, Georgia. He is the longest-lived former President in our nation’s history. His wife Rosalynn Carter passed away at the couple’s home in November 2023 at the age of 96. He is survived by his four children and several grandchildren.
Carter was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002 for his decades of for conflict resolution work.
President Joe Biden is expected to deliver eulogy at Carter’s funeral today.
