The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is one of the largest scouting organizations and one of the largest youth organizations in the United States. Founded in American 114 years ago in February 8, 1910, the organization offers life-guidance and mentorship to instill core values into kids and young adults. BSA is a United States organization, but frequently travels overseas to have their scouts experience cultures in different countries such as Europe, Japan and South Korea.
BSA currently has over 1 million youth, including 176,000 female participants. The Boy Scouts of America have been a permanent ‘coming of age; fixture in American culture, leaving boys (as well as girls) with lifetime experiences, life lessons, and even friends.
The stated mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to “prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.”
