The family and friends of late dancer Stephen “tWitch” Boss have criticized his widow, Allison Holker after she made controversial claims in a People magazine interview.
Holker alleged finding drugs among Boss’ belongings after his suicide.
“It was a really triggering moment for me because there were a lot of things I discovered in our closet that I did not know existed. It was very alarming to me to learn that there was so much happening that I had no clue [about],” Holker told People magazine in the interview. “It was a really scary moment in my life to figure that out, but it also helped me process that he was going through so much and he was hiding so much, and there must have been a lot of shame in that.”
Holker details her healing journey in a new memoir titled ‘This Far,’ set to release on Feb. 4.
She spoke about going through tWitch’s journals, hoping to find clarity and closure after his death.
“He was wrestling with a lot inside himself, and he was trying to self-medicate and cope with all those feelings because he didn’t want to put it on anyone because he loved everyone so much,” she revealed of Boss, who alluded to being sexually abused by a male figure during his childhood in several of his journal entries. “He didn’t want other people to take on his pain.”
However, family members disputed her claims and questioned her motive.
Boss’ cousin Darielle, revealed that they were forced to sign non-disclosure agreements (NDAs) just to attend his funeral, with Darielle stating, “She’s been trying to tarnish his legacy and refuses to let the Boss family see the children.”
The family members also say she’s preventing them from seeing the children.
Boss’ brother, Dré Rose, expressed concern about an “atmosphere of estrangement” between the children and their grandmother, Connie Alexander.
Another cousin, Zachary Boss Silas, addressed the NDA and allegations on his Instagram. He said the family was told they were signing it to protect their loved one’s legacy.
“You leverage Stephen’s death to elevate yourself,” he said. “It’s sad.”
Social media users criticize Holker’s handling of the situation.
