Delta Air Lines has announced it will provide $30,000 to each passenger of Delta Connection Flight 4819 following a terrifying crash landing at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
The flight, traveling from Minneapolis, faced catastrophe as the plane flipped upside down upon landing and caught fire.
All 80 passengers and crew members miraculously survived the incident.
However, 21 individuals sustained injuries, with one passenger remaining in the hospital for further treatment.
Emergency responders and the flight crew were credited with ensuring a swift evacuation, which helped prevent any fatalities.
Delta confirmed that the compensation is unconditional, emphasizing that receiving the payment will not limit passengers’ legal rights or their ability to pursue claims related to the incident.
“Our priority is supporting those affected by this event,” a Delta spokesperson said.
The airline has also pledged to work closely with aviation authorities as investigations into the crash proceed.
